Garrett Martel

Garrett is focused on venture capital fund investing across Next Legacy’s Funds platform, where he helps evaluate opportunities with leading managers and supports the firm’s efforts to build a diversified portfolio across the venture landscape.

Before joining the Firm, Garrett worked at Fidelity Investments within the Alternative Investments group, where he gained experience across private equity, venture capital, and private credit. This experience deepened his perspective on private markets and developed his analytical approach to evaluating fund strategies.

Originally from Erving, Massachusetts, Garrett earned his BA in Finance from the University of Rhode Island. While at URI, he developed a strong interest in technology and the trends driving innovation across industries, which shaped his perspective on how new ideas can create lasting value and opportunity. Garrett has long believed in using the power of investing to make the world a better place, viewing capital as a tool to drive meaningful improvement in people’s lives.

In addition to his work at Next Legacy, Garrett is deeply interested in the intersection of technology and capital formation and is committed to supporting investors and entrepreneurs who are advancing the next generation of companies. 

Outside of work, he enjoys running and staying healthy, as well as reading philosophy.
