Laura Gilson

Laura is an Executive Assistant at Next Legacy. She is responsible for providing administrative and business support to Managing Partner Ryan Nece. Laura enjoys the complex, behind-the-scenes operations of venture and specializes in streamlining workflow across the entire team. 

Before joining Next Legacy, Laura supported both Managing Partners at a neighboring deep-tech venture firm. Prior to that role, Laura created a successful web-based bakery business and grew it into a profitable brick and mortar in San Diego. She ran the business for six years before selling in 2019 and moving to northern California.

Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Purdue University. Laura is always baking or doing something creative. She enjoys going to the beach and spending time outdoors with her son and husband as well as walking their two dogs and working on their 100-year-old home on the weekends.
